The Global Work for Khilafah
In the month of Rajab, Muslims throughout the world rallied behind the call of Hizb ut-Tahrir in calling for the return of the Khilafah. The month of Rajab marked over 84 years since the destruction of the Khilafah.
The yearning Muslims have for the return of the Khilafah is now evident for all to see, it encompasses the world from East to West and it takes no notice of colour, race or language, it is indeed an inevitable matter.
Hizb ut-Tahrir Wilayah of Lebanon held a conference calling on Muslims and non-Muslims to work with them to liberate the Islamic world from the oppressive global system. Hizb ut-Tahrir Wilayah of Yemen organised a seminar on the same subject. In the troubled land of Iraq the Muslims ignored the problems of security and also raised the call for Khilafah.
In Palestine we witnessed many thousands of Muslims across the country in Al-Quds, Jenin, Tul Karim, Bethlehem, Hebron and Gaza calling for the resumption of the Islamic way of life through the re-establishment of the Khilafah. The Palestinian authority attempted to prevent many of these gatherings by brutal force which included the man handling of women armed with nothing more than the power of their speech. In Gaza despite the repression over 3,000 people demonstrated.
In the Asian sub-continent we saw the Ummah respond in huge numbers, activities organised in Pakistan, Bangladesh and India illustrate the global nature of this call and show the irrelevance of the borders between our lands.
In Southeast Asia the Ummah in Indonesia and Malaysia were at the forefront of the call for Khilafah with events across their respective countries. This follows the 2007 Khilafah conference which attracted 100,000 people in Indonesia.
Malaysia, 29th Rajab 1429 AH (1st Aug. 2008) In East Africa we witnessed the Muslims of Kenya echoing the views of the Ummah elsewhere.
Kenya, Rajab 1429 (July-August 2008) And far in the East from the Crimean Peninsula the Muslims of Ukraine articulated a strong case for the return of the Khilafah.
Ukraine, Rajab 1429 AH (July-August 2008) The Muslims in the West also responded in harmony with the Ummah in calling for the return of political unity by re-establish the Khilafah. In Britain, Australia and Denmark Hizb ut-Tahrir led the Ummah with this same call. London, Britain, 1st Shaaban 1429AH -16.8.08 There will then emerge Khilafah on the way of Prophethood.
