The prominent academic Dr Shireen Mazari following despite pressure from the US wrote in September:“Now, even if one were to ignore the massive purchases of land by the US, the questionable manner in which the expansion of the US Embassy is taking place and the threatening covert activities of the US and its ‘partner in crime’ Blackwater; the unregistered comings and goings of US personnel on chartered flights; we would still find it difficult to see the whole aid disbursement issue as anything other than a sign of US gradual occupation. It is no wonder we have the term Af-Pak: Afghanistan they control through direct occupation loosely premised on a UN resolution; Pakistan they are occupying as a result of willingly ceded sovereignty by the past and present leadership.”

Pakistan’s former chief of army staff, General Mirza Aslam Beg (ret.), directly implicated U.S. private security company Blackwater in the assassination of former Pakistani prime minister Benazir Bhutto in a recent interview on Pakistani TV. In response to the bomb blast in Peshawar which killed over 100 civilians the leader of the Taliban in Pakistan Hakimullah Mehsud implicated Blackwater for the bombing stating that their war was not with the people.

Blackwater (Xe) who are still implicating in crimes in Iraq, represent all that is wrong with an out of control colonial power – unregulated, unaccountable and utterly ruthless.
